Me, Myself and Her (Io e Lei) (2014) is a lesbian love story, part comedy part drama, featuring Marina and Frederica, two Italian women in their fifties living together in Rome for the past five years. Marina (Sabrina Ferilli), a retired actress turned restauranteur is comfortable with her lesbian identity while for Frederica (Margherita Buy) it is her first time in a relationship with a woman after coming out of a long-term heterosexual marriage and she is still intent on keeping their relationship private.
When Marina receives an offer to make a foray back into acting, the prospect of the couple's life being in the limelight threatens their comfortable and companionable life together. Me, Myself and Her (Io e Lei) is worth a watch for the lovely interplay between this older lesbian couple - the pair have great onscreen chemistry.
