SEEKING SIMONE (2009) - Lesbian Web Series from Canada

Seeking Simone (2009) (IMDb 6.1) is lesbian web series set in Toronto, Canada in which slightly awkward Simone navigates the world of online lesbian dating with the help of her Vancouver-based friend Audrey. Over the course of the two seasons (10 episodes in total) Simone somewhat reluctantly goes on a variety of dates which have some unexpected comic outcomes. Online dating has never been so gay is the tagline here.

Look out for Zoie Palmer of Lost Girl, Dark Matter, Winona Earp and Pure fame who makes an all too brief appearance as Rebecca, Simone's ex-girlfriend in Episode 1. The Seeking Simone web series stars its co-creator Renée Olbert as Simone and Anna Chatterton as Audrey. The web series was co-created and written by Rosemary Rowe.

This quirky web series was an early forerunner of the web series genre on YouTube. While uneven in places and slightly dated due to the advent of dating apps it is an enjoyable watch.
