Loving Annabelle is a modern adaptation of the classic lesbian drama Mädchen in Uniform. Annabelle is a charismatic and rebellious daughter of a senator who is sent to a Catholic girls school to mend her ways. Fearing Annabelle will influence the other students, the strict headmistress instructs Simone, the poetry teacher, to keep an eye on Annabelle and bring her into line. Simone, however, quickly learns that the real challenge is not Annabelle's behaviour but the growing attraction between them. As Annabelle pursues her teacher, she unleashes the passion that has been locked deep inside Simone, who then must decide whether or not to enter into an affair that could cost her everything.
