Kommt Mausi Raus? (Is Mousie Coming Out?) is a German lesbian themed TV movie from 1995 which explores the journey that Kati nicknamed Mausi, a young German girl takes to come out as lesbian. She leaves her constricted life in a small town to enjoy the freedom of living in Hamburg where she finds friendship and love with Yumiko. She eventually goes home for a visit and must find the strength to tell her mother and her best friend that she loves women and that isn't going to change.

Kommt Mausi Raus? is definitely worth the watch for its comic treatment of the coming out subject matter. It's a bittersweet movie that many will relate to. Julia Richter does a great job portraying Mausi or Kati. Watch Kommt Mausi Raus? in three parts on Dailymotion.

Ayten, a political activist flees from her homeland Turkey to Germany and begins the search for her mother. With no means of support, Ayten enlists the help of a stranger, Lotte, who takes her into her home despite the disapproval of her conservative mother. When Ayten is declined asylum Lotte travels to Turkey to try to free her from prison but with catastrophic results.

The Edge of Heaven was the winner of the Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. This movie is also known under the worldwide title of "On the Other Side" which is a direct translation of the original German title "Auf der anderen Seite.
