The Favourite is a lesbian interest film that is set in the early 18th Century and is the story of frail Queen Anne who occupies the throne but England is governed by her long-time friend and lover Lady Sarah. When the ambitious Abigail arrives at court she finds her way into the Queen's heart as her companion by offering emotional and physical solace. The delicate balance of power shifts between the three women but Lady Sarah is not about to relinquish control without a fight.
