Carol is a lesbian interest film set in Manhatten in 1952-1953 and adapted from the novel "The Price of Salt" by Patricia Highsmith. The Carol movie is a love story between two women: Carol (Cate Blanchett), a beautiful woman stuck in a depressing marriage of convenience and the much younger would-be photographer Therese, a clerk in a department store. Unfortunately for Carol her husband hires a private investigator to track Carol's movements with the intention of proving she is an unfit mother when he realizes that she may leave him.
