In Home Fires (2015), a UK TV show about a group of inspirational women in rural Cheshire during World War II, there was a short lesbian storyline featuring Teresa and Connie. Teresa is the local teacher, recently arrived in the village looking for a new start after being outed as a lesbian by her former principal. Unbeknownst to Connie, her girlfriend, she has left quietly and quickly to avoid a scandal and to protect Connie's name and career. Connie tracks Teresa down wanting answers about Teresa's sudden disappearance and with an offer for a new life in America.
